The following Parks & Leisure Service sites will be closed today due to the continued power outage. The city has received many phone calls as to why the City pool is closed…without power, pumps can’t run. The below sites have no power.

Petersburg Public Libary Closed Today
All City of Petersburg Public Libraries will be closed today due to the continued power outages. The Libraries are prepared to open on Wednesday if power is restored today.
Adjusted Routes For Petersburg Area Transit Buses
Petersburg Area Transit are back on regular schedule and route with the exception of the following detours: Walnut Hill, Greenwood Farms and Battlefield Park/West Park Drive routes are not being serviced.
Buses will begin service on Tuesday, August 30th, 2011 at regular times. There are no scheduled delays.
Petersburg Curfew Continues
The curfew will continue in the City of Petersburg beginning at 11pm tonight and continue through 6am Tuesday morning. The curfew will remain in effect each night at the same times until further notice.
The curfew applies to all persons traveling on roadways and pedestrians within the City except for federal, state and local law enforcement; fire, rescue, utility company workers, emergency operating personnel and contractors performing services for the City. The curfew is declared under the local declared emergency for Hurricane Irene.
The main roadways have been cleared, but most traffic lights are not working due to the power outage. Power lines are down throughout the city and not all secondary streets have been cleared from fallen trees. ______________________________
Petersburg Courts & Sheriff’s Office Open On Tuesday
Petersburg Courts will open Tuesday, August 30th at regular times. This included Circuit, General District, and Juvenile and Domestic Relations. The Petersburg Sheriff’s Office will also be open on Tuesday.
