Former CSI: Crime Scene Investigation star Gary Dourdan has avoided punishment for drug possession after police dropped the charge against him.
L.A. cops took Dourdan into custody in June after they found pills in his possession while investigating his involvement in a car crash.
The drugs were identified as Oxycontin. Dourdan faced prosecution over the possession of drug paraphernalia and the pills.
However, days ago, officials decided to drop the drug possession charge.
Dourdan is still charged with possessing drug paraphernalia and is due back in court in September 2011.
