Hurricane Irene is gone but not forgotten.  The category 1 storm has left downed trees, powerlines, debris and flooding. In the City of Richmond there were reported 500 trees down. Heavy rain from the storm has caused drainage problems along some roads in the Richmond area.

NOTE: Since many of the downed trees contain power lines, drivers and residents are strongly advised to avoid contact with them.

To report trees in the road, flooding or traffic signal outages, call VDOT’s Customer Serivce Center at 1-800-FOR-ROAD (1-800-367-7623).

For real-time traffic udpates and road conditions, please visit www.511Virginia.org or by calling 511.
