The story of R&B/Hip-Hop group ‘The Force MD’s’ is being told for the first time, in a new documentary title “The Force MD’s Re–Lived”.

The group, from Staten Island, found major success on Tommy Boy Records during Hip-Hop’s “Golden Age,” starting in the year 1984 with the album “Love Letters”.

In addition to their music being featured in movies like “Krush Groove,” The Force MD’s hit the charts with tracks like “Let Me Love You,” “Forgive Me Girl,” “Itchin’ For a Scratch,” “Tears” and the producers Jimmy Jam and Terry Lewis hit “Tender Love”.

The group’s sound was so unique at the time, that Rolling Stone magazine labeled them – the creators of “Doo-Wop Hip-Hop,” hence the name Force “MD’s,” which stands for “musical diversity.”

The group’s story is told through interviews and first hand accounts with guest appearances from legends of R&B and Hip-Hop including Boyz II Men, Bell, Biv Devoe, MC Lyte, Tom Silverman, Jimmy Jam, Terry Lewis, Bow-Legged Lou, Naughty By Nature, Kurtis Blow, Doug E. Fresh, as well as the Force MD’s themselves.

A special screening for “The Force MD’s Re-Lived” is taking place on Saturday August 13th at the Tribeca Theater in New York.
