The Panthers of Virginia Union will miss the services of offensive lineman David Mims, who signed yesterday with the Kansas City Chiefs. The 6-8 anchor of the Panthers line hails from Charlotte, NC and is Union’s first NFL signee since 2004. In other CIAA news, the Baltimore Ravens have signed RB Walter Sanders from Saint Augustine’s College. A sweet move for Sanders who is ironically from Baltimore. More irony? Virginia Union and St. Aug will open the 2011 CIAA Football season on August 27th at Hovey Field on the campus of VUU.
