Battleship is singer Rihanna’s first big movie role.
Rihanna will play an “FBI espionage agent who goes along with the navy to defeat the origins – the alien race attacking Earth.”
The singer spent three months filming the movie in Baton Rouge, Louisiana and parts of Hawaii.
“She’s really tough,” Rihanna said about her character. “She doesn’t stand for anything. I just know my weapons really, really well. She’s really intelligent, but really bad ass.”
The film is based on the classic board game and co-stars Liam Neeson.
Battleship will open in theaters on May 18, 2012.
