His smooth yet powerful manner of running the football changed the game,  he  became the NFL’s all-time leading rusher, and held that honor for years until Emmitt Smith came along.  Monday, July 25th, 2011 marks what would have been the 57th birthday of the late great Hall Of Fame RB Walter Payton, affectionately known to fans as “Sweetness”.  Payton led the Chicago Bears to the 1985 Super Bowl and was twice the NFL’s MVP representing his HBCU, Jackson State University.
