ABC News is putting Katie Couric to work almost immediately.
The former CBS Evening News anchor starts at ABC on Aug. 1 and will sit-in as a guest co-host on ABC’s The View on Aug. 3, according to ABC. Couric’s appearance will take place in the last week of the successful talk show’s 14th season.
Couric’s stint on The View will happen before her upcoming gig as the host and producer of her own syndicated daytime show, set to launch in 2012.
Couric signed with ABC News last month after five years as anchor and managing editor of the CBS Evening News.
