Us Weekly named Jennifer Lopez Style Icon of the Decade in spring 2010, but reportedly her husband Marc Anthony tried to control the fashion icon’s clothes during a photo shoot for the magazine last year.
According to Us Weekly, Anthony objected to a photo that he found “too sexy and unbecoming for a 40-year-old mother of two.”
Since the couple tied the knot seven years ago, Latin singer Anthony attempted to rule his wife’s famous style choices.
Us credits sources as saying, “He would make her feel terrible about herself if she wanted to wear something sexy. He likes her to dress in a demure, ‘wife’ style. He hated the fact that she was a sex symbol. Marc has always been a very dominating husband. He wants to control everything Jennifer does.”
“She tried everything she could to make it work,” the source continued. “They went to marriage counseling. She was patient and loving and did everything he wanted her to. She exhausted all the possibilities.”
Jennifer seems to be back in control now jumping back into work. Lopez shot a fall ad campain for her Kohl’s clothing line on Saturday and arrived in the Ukraine early Tuesday for Reported $1 Million Wedding Gig for billionaire Serhiy Taruta’s daughter.
