The cast of the Los Angeles edition of the VH1 series Basketball Wives continues to get as interesting as it does controversial.
Following Shaunie O’Neal’s comments that the spin-off cast is “littered with trash” comes word of another addition to the show. Page Six reports that former Nets Star Jayson Williams’ estranged wife, Tanya, will join the cast. Tanya is in the midst of a divorce from Jayson while he sits in prison for his role in the death of a limo driver.
According to BET.com, Tanya explained, “I signed on to participate in the show to elevate the negative perception . . . that [it] is purposely filled with flighty, overly emotional and sense lessly dramatic women.” She added, “Yes, my life is chaotic, dramatic and surreal, but I am also a businesswoman.”
Thus far she has shot three episodes for the series. Her ex is up for parole next month, just in time for Basketball Wives: LA’s premiere.
