LaLa Anthony was dubbed the “First Lady of The NBA” by the New York Times in a recent article celebrating her and husband Carmelo Anthony. When the piece described them as an ambitious couple, comparing them to David and Victoria Beckham.
LaLa says, “I love Will Smith and Jada Pinkett. You see the love, and you can see the support, and they partner on things and produce together. But she has a life, and he has a life.”
Carmelo and LaLa have already made power moves as a couple. Their Krossover Productions made the critically acclaimed Tyson documentary and also produced her reality show for VH1.
But LaLa mainly expressed that she never wants to be known simply as a basketball wife. She says she has her own interests and identity. She sees her marriage to Carmelo as a partnership where they both can grow and pursue their dreams.
