Shia LaBeouf appears to have had a change of heart about opening his mouth, following his headline-making revelation he had a brief fling with Megan Fox while they filmed previous installments of the “Transformers” franchise.

At Tuesday night’s “Transformers: Dark of the Moon” premiere in New York City (on July 4, 2011), the actor revealed to Access Hollywood he is going to start censoring himself.

“I just turned 25,” the actor said, referring to his birthday, on June 11, while on the red carpet. “And I’m learning how to edit myself and say no comment now.”

Shia’s “Transformers” co-star, Patrick Dempsey, agreed that the leading man is picking up things along the way, but admitted the young actor is a candid man.

“He’s always very candid, that’s who he is and you have to respect that in him,” Patrick told Access on Tuesday. “He’s a young man who’s learning a great deal every day. He’s a great actor to work with… I have nothing but good things to say about him. He’s a really nice guy.”

As previously reported on Access Hollywood, Shia LaBeouf told Details magazine, in an interview for their August cover story, that he had been intimate with Megan.

“Look, you’re on the set for six months, with someone who’s rooting to be attracted to you, and you’re rooting to be attracted to them,” he told Details. “I never understood the separation of work and life in that situation. But the time I spent with Megan was our own thing, and I think you can see the chemistry onscreen.”

When asked if Megan, 25, was with then-boyfriend-and-now-husband Brian Austin Green at the time, Shia said, “I don’t know, man. I don’t know. I don’t know. I don’t know,” repeating the phrase 12 separate times, then added, “It was what it was.”

A rep for Megan told Access Hollywood, “We do not have a comment.”
