If you have been enticed to open an email message that reads O.J. Simpson Confesses to Oprah, you may have inadvertently loaded a virus onto your network, laptop, tablet or phone.

Last week, Oprah Winfrey told a crew at a cable convention in Chicago about her dream interview, “I have a dream of O.J. Simpson confessing to me,” she said. “I don’t just want the interview, I want the interview on the condition that you are ready, Mr. Simpson.”

Well, the story of Oprah’s dream has gone viral, and the tabloids have taken the bait, too, claiming that Oprah has indeed already secured O.J.’s confession. A National Enquirer story reportedly says that O.J. gave a jailhouse interview with an Oprah producer, and O.J. admitted that he committed murder after his ex-wife pulled a knife on him.

None of it is true confirms a rep for Harpo Productions.

In at least one version of the email, a virus has been hidden within the message. Millions of people on the Internet could be affected.

This is why it is so important for you to keep your email accounts safe. If you are not taking steps towards this then you may already be infected with some kind of computer virus or hacker attack.

That is why you need to be aware of what you are doing when it comes to email.
