As 2011 soon-to-be graduates of Armstrong High School, Ariel and Alissa Barlow have pursued a rigorous course of study, maintained 4.5 grade point averages, and earned their ranks as co-class valedictorian and National Honor Society inductees. During their time in high school, they have been enrolled in numerous honors and advanced placement classes and participated in the dual enrollment program at J. Sargeant Reynolds Community College and earned credit points for completing 5 college courses.

Ariel and Alissa’s dedication to being well-rounded students is evident. They have developed skills that have assisted them in managing a variety of extracurricular activities which include Partnership for the Future, Track and Field, Softball, Volleyball, Varsity Cheerleading, Future Business Leaders of America, and the Armstrong Leadership program. They’ve won a number of awards such as the Academic All District Awards, Most Valuable Player Awards, and the Lexus of Richmond Pursuit of Perfection Leadership Award, just to name a few. Ariel and Alissa have also found time to give back to the community by volunteering at Peter Paul Development Center. They’ve also held internships at Williams Mullen Law Firm and Brandywine Realty and Trust last summer.

Next year, they plan to attend North Carolina Agriculture and Technical State University. Ariel will be majoring in engineering and Alissa in Busines
