City Removes Asphalt Atop Slave Burial Ground

An asphalt covered parking lot at VCU has for years been covering up an African American slave burial ground. Mayor Dwight C. Jones and the City of Richmond have started the process of removing the asphalt and restoring the burial ground into a future memorial for the city.

Miss Community Clovia attended the event and even was apart of the ground breaking ceremony.
