Richmond, VA – The Department of Finance reminds residents that the deadline for 2011 Real Estate Tax Relief for the Elderly and Disabled program applications and certifications is quickly approaching. All completed and signed real estate tax relief application and certification forms must be received by Thursday, March 31.
“Regardless if the taxpayer is a new applicant or an existing program participant, in order to receive tax relief in 2011, it is important that the Department of Finance receives the proper documents by March 31st,” said Director of Finance Barbara Reese.

City finance staff will be available during the following times and locations to provide personal assistance with the real estate tax relief application process. No appointment is necessary. The locations and days are:
o Tuesday, March 29 and Thursday, March 31
8 a.m. to noon
City Hall – Room 103
900 E. Broad Street
o Tuesday, March 29 and Thursday, March 31
9 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Marshall Plaza – Room 103
900 E. Marshall Street (across from City Hall)
