For a team that doesn’t belong, the VCU Rams certainly are not playing their part according to script. Not only should they NOT be here, but they shouldn’t be one win from the Sweet 16. That’s the reality for these Rams, who once again have silenced their critics with an impressive NCAA win over a team with basketball pedigree. VCU goes on to play the Boilermakers of Purdue University on Sunday in Chicago. The Rams were simply on fire led by ex-Highland Springs star Brandon Rozell with 26 points. George Mason defeated Villanova, giving VA three potential Sweet 16 teams. Richmond tries it’s luck with Morehead State today in Denver. Duke convincingly sent 16th-seeded Hampton packing.
