When I blogged yesterday about NFL players giving an image of “greed and insensitivity” during this NFL labor dispute, I had no idea that a player the caliber of Adrian Peterson would assist me in making my point. Peterson said in a recent interview that NFL players are simply “modern-day slaves”. This is precisely the kind of image I was talking about. Peterson is scheduled to earn $ 10 million this season, and I would venture to say there were no slaves being paid quite as royally. If it’s that bad, Slavery? Then just walk away from the game. But in a time where the nation is struggling as a whole, and people can’t find a job, that is pure psycho-talk.
