Hampton University Wins MEAC Championship / Clinches NCAA Berth
The Pirates of Hampton University defeated Morgan State 60-55 in overtime to win the MEAC Championship and secure a berth in the upcoming NCAA Tournament. This is Hampton’s first trip to the “Big Dance” in 5 years. The Pirates are now 24-8 and will await their NCAA assignment on Sunday night. Hampton’s Darrion Pellum scored 12 points in the title game, he was named the tournament MVP.
