Egyptian President and dictator Hosni Mubarak has stepped down after a 30 year reign.

“In these grave circumstances that the country is passing through, President Hosni Mubarak has decided to leave his position as president of the republic. He has mandated the Armed Forces Supreme Council to run the state. God is our protector and succor,” said Vice President Omar Suleiman earlier today.

Protesters have been on the streets of Cairo for the past 18 days defying Marshall Law, curfew, and fighting off thugs from Mubarak’s regime to finally get a taste of freedom. Fireworks, flags waving and loud cheers of freedom, are a sign of major change in Africa and the Middle East.
