The New Jersey Nets have had enough. For weeks rumors have swirled that the Nets were working a deal to get Denver All-Star Carmelo Anthony, but with two other teams in the mix, and negotiations dragging on, the Nets decided to pull the plug and move on. The bottom line obviously was the Nets wanted a long-term extension and Melo did not want to stay in New Jersey very long. A reported meeting with team co-owner Jay-Z and Carmelo has apparently been called off as well. With the Nets having lost six straight, there was fear the trade talk had worn the team down.
