The New England Patriots hadn’t lost a home game all year long, and after a 45-3 trouncing of the New York Jets just a few weeks ago, no one believed the Jets could return to Foxboro and come away victorious. But they did!  New York’s 28-21 AFC victory sends them into Pittsburgh next weekend for the AFC Championship.  In the NFC, same scenario, different teams.  The Atlanta Falcons, playing at home, top seed, yet the Birds looked as though they had no business being on the same field with the Green Bay Packers, who drilled the ATL 48-21, to move on to the NFC title game against their chief rival, the Chicago Bears.  It also happens to be the NFL’s oldest rivalry, but the only postseason meeting took place some70 years ago in 1941.
