Nancy Pelosi turned the gavel over to John Boehner as the Republicans took control of the 112th session of Congress today in Washington. The GOP has vowed to wage a political war against most of the President’s major policies, especially the health-care bill, which they have vowed to repeal. The Senate also welcomed 35 new members today at their swearing-in, although the Democrats still hold the majority and can still block any bills that threaten the President’s agenda.
