Winnie Mandela, former wife of activist and South Africa’s first Black president, Nelson Mandela, has passed away at the age of 81. The couple served as a symbol of the anti-Apartheid movement for over 30 years. The couple divorced and she took the surname Madikizela-Mandela in the 1990’s. See story here
