Christian Home Visiting Initiative
“Build Relations hips. Foster Faith. Strengthen Communities.”
What is the Christian Home Visiting Initiative?
The Christian Home Visiting Initiative (CHVI) is a dynamic outreach ministry rooted in the mission of Spring Creek Baptist Church (aka, The Creek and SCBC). Our mission is to walk beside and with families, not in judgment or authority—but in love, faith, and spiritual partnership.
We believe that discipleship begins at home, and that parents and caregivers are primary spiritual leaders in a child’s life. But let’s be honest—raising children in today’s society can be overwhelming. Many parents and caregivers wonder if they are enough, know enough Scripture, pray well enough, or have the tools to teach their children about God.
Our Christian Home Visiting Initiative program responds with a resounding “Yes, you are enough.” Our ministry equips families with encouragement, biblical practices, and a spiritual toolkit to strengthen their walk with Christ—right in their living rooms, on virtual platforms, and throughout their everyday lives.
Why Home Visiting
Simply put, family visits provide every family with the encouragement and tools they deserve to feel spiritually equipped and deeply supported.
Many parents desire to disciple their children but aren’t always sure where to begin. That’s where the Christian Home Visiting Initiative (CHVI) steps in—not to teach over families, but to walk alongside them. We affirm the wisdom, love, and faith parents already bring to the table, and we help strengthen their confidence in guiding their children’s spiritual journey.
And we do this though visits, recognizing that the home is not just a physical space—it is sacred ground. Every visit is an act of presence and purpose. Family visits strengthens relationships, nurture faith through spiritual disciplines, and lead to community connection.
At Spring Creek Baptist Church (aka, The Creek and SCBC) we build bridges of trust, hope, and of lasting discipleship. Our Christian Home Visiting Initiative program is helping grow stronger families, a stronger church, and a stronger community—one visit at a time.
How the Program Works
The Christian Home Visiting Initiative consists of six personalized visits, each lasting about 75 minutes. After the initial visit, Building Relationship, each of the five remaining visits will explore a spiritual practice to help families integrate faith into daily life. Over time, families create a personalized spiritual toolkit—filled with artifacts, habits, and resources that reflect their faith journey.
The Six Spiritual Disciplines:
- Building Relationships
- Walking in Wholeness
- Celebrating Life
- Caring for Our Homes
- Making Wise Decisions
- Serving Family and Community
Each visit includes conversation, prayer, and a simple hands-on activity to help families incorporate faith into their daily routines. These activities and events become the family’s personalized spiritual toolkit.
Why CHVI Matters
Christian Home Visiting Initiative is not just a program—it’s a movement of relational ministry. It matters because families matter to God. When parents feel empowered in their role as spiritual leaders, the entire household is strengthened. When children see faith modeled in love, they grow in resilience, joy, and identity.
In a world that often isolates and divides, CHVI creates intentional moments of unity. It bridges generations. It affirms culture. And it invites every family to see their story as part of God’s story.
We don’t bring answers—we bring presence, prayer, and possibility.

Frequently Asked Questions:
Who is CHVI for?
CHVI is for all families—whether you’re a member of The Creek, new to the community, or simply looking for support in your faith journey at home. It’s designed for parents and caregivers who want to guide their children in faith but may not know where to start.
Do I have to be a Bible expert to participate?
Absolutely not! CHVI is not a Bible study—it’s about being present. The ministry uses a curriculum-based manual as a guide for teaching the spiritual disciplines. Our role is to walk with you, offer encouragement, and grow together in Christ.
Does CHVI have to take place in a home?
No, it doesn’t! While the home is a meaningful and natural setting, CHVI visits can happen in any agreed-upon location that is safe, welcoming, and appropriate for children—such as a library room, church meeting space, or community center. Also, the visit can occur via an online platform such as zoom or google meeting. The goal is to create a space where families feel comfortable and spiritually supported.
What ages does CHVI serve?
CHVI is designed for families with children and youth between the ages of 5 and 17. Each visit includes age-appropriate activities and spiritual practices to help children and teens grow in faith beside their caregivers.
