Richmond, VA – There are children in our community that need your help now. The city of Richmond Department of Social Services is looking for foster parents to provide loving and nurturing homes for children who enter foster care. On September 28, 2010, at 6 p.m., the department will host its monthly foster parent orientation that will describe in detail what it takes to become certified as a foster parent. The orientation will be held at the Department of Social Services downtown office at 900 East Marshall Street.

The department is looking for people who can provide a safe, comfortable, and caring environment. Foster parents are also needed to offer recreational and enrichment activities that promote healthy development and to support the every day ups and downs that all children experience.

Light refreshments will be served. Those interested in attending should call (804) 646-KIDS by September 27, 2010.
