Minnesota Vikings QB Brett Favre has reportedly informed the team that after 19 years in the NFL and a record 285 consecutive starts, he has decided not to return for a 20th season.  Favre, known for his dramatic announcements of retirement, appears to have come to the conclusion that he just physically can’t do it any longer.  Favre had Vikings fans dreaming of finally winning a Super Bowl last year, but had arthroscopic surgery on his ankle in the off-season and apparently the injury hasn’t fully recovered.  Favre’s retirement, when official, leaves Minnesota with previous starter Tavaris Jackson and Sage Rosenfels.  Favre would leave the game as the NFL’s all-time leader in victories, passing yards, and TDs.  Enough said.  Hall of Fame express entry
