Former Boston Red Sox slugger David Ortiz was ambushed by a man who shot him in the back Sunday night at the Dial Bar and Lounge in Santo Domingo around 8:50 p.m.. The gunman approached from behind after arriving by motorcycle when he shot Ortiz. Good Samaritans caught the shooter physically beat and restrained him.
Doctor’s say he is in ICU recovering from surgery after removing parts of his intestines, colon and gall bladder. Original stories suggested that it was a botched robbery but the video below shows otherwise.
