According to documents released this week, Chicago Police thought the deal reached with Jussie Smollett would include an admission of guilt. Police, who claim Smollett staged the much-publicized hate crime attack in January, were reportedly working on a plea deal in which Smollett would admit guilt and do community service along with a $10,000 fine. Instead, state prosecutors dropped all charges and Smollett walked free.
Nearly 500 pages of police files on the Smollett investigation were released to the public on Thursday. More documents and video footage are expected to be released in the coming weeks.
Do you think we’ll ever get an admission from Smollett? Do you think there’s any chance the attack wasn’t staged?
