In a move that could mean the end for the 126-year-old retailer, Sears is preparing to liquidate its assets after a last-ditch effort to save the company fell through. Sears filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy last year hoping a deal could still be struck to save the company. If it goes ahead with the liquidation, hundreds of Sears and Kmart stores would be closed and as many as 68,000 people would lose their jobs.
Sears was one of the country’s largest retailers at one point with more than 3,000 locations but dropped off sharply in the last decade-plus.
Do you still shop at Sears? Do you shop at any brick-and-mortar stores? What could Sears have done to save its business?
