Vice President Mike Pence presided over the chamber in case his constitutional duty to break tie votes was required, but the Senate voted 50-48 to confirm Kavanaugh despite multiple allegations the nominee committed sexual assault including testimony from Christine Blasey Ford testified before the Senate.
