Jesse Williams has apologized for using memes that featured the mother of Emmitt Till to promote his directorial debut of the movie, “Till.” Jesse posted several different memes in the style of the Colin Kaepernick Nike ads with the caption, “Believe in something. Even if it means sacrificing everything” and let fans know that the movie was coming soon.

Fans didn’t like Willliams’ style of promoting the movie and because of that he took the memes down and wrote an apology to fans.  He did leave one meme up. It was a meme of Emmitt Till’s uncle pointing out Till’s murderers in the courtroom with the same wording. “Till” will be produced by Williams and Whoopi Goldberg and will start production summer 2019.

Did you have an issue with Williams’ memes? Have you ever had to take down a meme on social media that offended followers?
