The family of Aretha Franklin is not happy about the eulogy delivered at Friday’s funeral. Rev. Jasper Williams Jr. was criticized by some for being too political in his sermon during Franklin’s service. In a statement delivered on behalf of the family, Vaughn Franklin said, “He spoke for 50 minutes and at no time did he properly eulogize her. It has been very, very distasteful.”
Williams defended his words saying, “I understand it. I regret it. But I’m sorry they feel that way.” Have you ever been to a wedding or a funeral where the minister said something that made people feel very uncomfortable?
