Long before we took a trip to Wakanda, a prince was looking for a bride and had to leave the kingdom of Zamunda. The classic Eddie Murphy movie Coming To America was released on June 29th, 1988. Yes, 30 years ago today.
The movie featured Murphy and co-star Arsenio Hall in multiple roles as Prince Akeem left Zamunda to come to America to search for a wife. Although the film wasn’t a critical success at the time, it has endured over the years as a fan favorite. With the characters, quotable lines and funny moments, Coming To America holds up 30 years later.
