The Trouble With Asking Abused Women “Why Didn’t They Leave?”

In so many cases of abusive relationships, far too many people fail to realize that by asking “why didn’t she leave?” , it places the blame of domestic violence on the abused, not the abuser. It would make more sense to ask of the abuser, “why don’t you stop the abuse?”, “how can I help?” etc.
