Democratic Gov. Candidate Ralph Northam Attends Friday Prayers At VA Mosque

Virginia proved to the world that diversity was the move and the state was tired of President Trumps divisive tones and agenda with historic election turnouts and historic wins including Democrat Ralph Northam defeating Republican Ed Gillespie for the Governors seat.

-Justin Fairfax, the Lieutenant Governor elect, becomes the second African American to hold a statewide office since former Governor Doug Wilder.

-Danica Roem became Virginia’s first transgender legislator by  defeating  Bob Marshall who opposed the LGBT community.

-Virginia elected its first out-lesbian when Dawn Adams barely defeated incumbent Manoli Loupassi .

-In Fairfax, Democrat Kathy Tram’s became the first Asian American woman elected to the Virginia General Assembly.

-Two Latina women were elected to the Virginia General Assembly for the first time ever with Elizabeth Guzman won the 31st District with a 10 percent margin. Hala Ayala beat incumbent Rich Anderson in the 51st District.
