What is the role of governor? The governor is the head of the executive branch of Virginia‘s government and the commander-in-chief of the state’s military forces. The governor has the duty to enforce state laws, and the power to either approve or veto bills passed by the Virginia General Assembly, to convene the legislature, and to grant pardons, except in cases of impeachment.

Register to vote, check or update your voter status at the Virginia Department of Elections. Virginia’s general election is Tuesday, November 7, 2017. The polls are open 6 a.m. to 7 p.m.

The Radio One & Miss Community “Your Community Gubernatorial Forum”  is Thursday, September 28, 2017 at the Virginia War Memorial 621 South Belvidere Street Richmond, VA 23220. The organizer and hostess Miss Community Clooovia has invited candidates for governor to participate in the forum and they have accepted. The forum moderators are Cheryl Miller of CBS-6 and Clovia “Miss Community” Lawrence of Radio One Richmond. The event time is 6:00 p.m. -8:00 p.m.
