I love all music but it is just something about black music. It’s a force that it always duplicated but can’t be separated from us. After my prayer and devotion daily, then it is my music on my drive into the radio station from ole school hip hop, jazz to R & B.
The late Minnie Ripperton was that singer with the voice of an angel. I loved all of her music -“Memory Lane”, “Lover and Friend”, ” Lovin’ You” and “Inside My Love.” Most radio stations took issue with playing “Inside My Love” because of the sexy sound. However, it was much deeper expressing the spirit of love from one to another.
