Rapper French Montana is facing backlash after unnecessarily dragging a Twitter user about her hair.
One would assume public figures get thousands of comments they don’t like everyday in their mentions, but for some reason, a woman saying nobody ‘cares’ about French Montana set the ‘No Shopping’ artist off.
Oh a classic case of fragile masculinity:
Expectedly, his jabs at her ‘nappy ass poetic justice braids’ reeked of mysogynoir, leading many social media users to accuse the hip hop star of racism. The comment caused #FrenchMontana to become a top trending topic on Twitter, with 27.3K comments.
The 32-year-old tried to defend his overreaction by saying ‘his son is black,’ which expectedly didn’t win over anyone criticizing him.
His response actually amplified the conversation, with many users calling out his use of the ‘n’ word in his lyrics, and his appropriation of Black culture:
