26 yr-old Deshauna Barber, an Army Reserve officer and IT analyst for the U.S. Department of Commerce, ran as Miss District of Columbia and won the Miss USA Pageant over miss Georgia and Miss Hawaii the runner-up.
Barber joined the military at the age of 17, after she graduated from my alma mater…Virginia State University. Go Trojans!!!
