Federal investigators are investigating why the Metro-North train that derailed in the Bronx was traveling 82 mph while approaching a curve that had a 30 mph speed limit.

According to reports, the brakes were not accessed until 5 seconds before entering the massive curve. The engineer, William Rockefeller of Germantown, N.Y. and the other three crew members are being interviewed by the NTSB, but they have not yet disclosed what he told investigators. His cell phone has been confiscated to examine call and text records to see if his attention was distracted before the accident.

Four people lost their lives and over 60 individuals were injured.
