Week 9 of the 2013 NFL season was full of fireworks as Seattle, Washington and Dallas were all on the ropes but found a second-half path to victory.  For Richmond’s Russell Wilson, it was another chapter in his maturing as an NFL QB as he led the Seahawks back from a 21 – 0 deficit and a horrendous 1st-half performance to pull out a huge comeback win over the winless Tampa Bay Buccaneers.   Meanwhile in Dallas, the Cowboys went back and forth with Minnesota as Adrian Peterson took control of the game midway through the 2nd half and had the Vikings in position to win, but Tony Romo led a last minute touchdown drive that proved to be decisive as the Boyz remain atop the NFC East at 5 – 4, but still have a lot of work to do if they want to play in the postseason.

In Washington, the Washington Football Team stared defeat in the face late in the 4th quarter against San Diego, and somehow, the Chargers came away empty handed in a game they should have won.  With 1st and goal from the 1-foot line and seconds remaining, the Chargers called three of the worst plays imaginable.  12 inches from victory with three chances to win, and San Diego blew it.  The Washington Football Team avoid the loss that may have removed any hope of a playoff return for 2013, yet Washington fans still have hope, even at 3 – 5.  With a short week and a big road test on Thursday night at Minnesota, the Washington Football Team are feeling better about their situation, but they still trail Dallas and lose the tiebreaker with Philadelphia, so there is much work to do.

Speaking of the Eagles, Philly put on an offensive clinic on Sunday at Oakland, pounding the Raiders with 7 TD passes from QB Nick Foles, who is replacing the injured Michael Vick, tying an NFL record.  The Pittsburgh Steelers see their season fading away after a blowout loss at New England, and the defending world champion Baltimore Ravens lost at Cleveland?  The Ravens NEVER lose to Cleveland.  That’s how Baltimore’s season has been going as the champs are 3 – 5 at midseason.  In New York, the unpredictable Jets pulled off the win against a tough New Orleans Saints team.  Cam Newton and the Carolina Panthers continue to roll as they defeat the Atlanta Falcons, who have fallen completely off the NFL radar screen.
