It is with a heavy heart we here at Radio One report that our News and Public Affairs Director Sheila Stewart unexpectedly passed away this morning.
Sheila Stewart was on her way to work when she was involved in a car accident in Atlanta, Georgia, Chris Wegmann, the Regional VP and General Manager for Radio One, confirmed.
Stewart worked for D.C.’s Radio One stations and had been staying with her sister and doing her work from Atlanta at the time of her death.
Her work in radio spanned 20 years. Stewart most recently served as the News and Community Affairs Director for Radio One’s D.C. stations, delivering the news for 93.9 WKYS-FM, Praise 104.1 WPRS-FM, WOL-AM, WYCB-AM, and WMMJ-FM, according to a bio on Praise 104.1’s website.
