Week 2 of the 2013 NFL season saw a few teams who are already in survival mode facing an 0 – 2 start going into Sunday’s games.  One of those teams is the Washington Redskins, whose performance against Green Bay looked almost exactly like last week’s game, a loss to Philadelphia.  Same result this week, a 38 – 20 defeat to the Packers, who amassed almost 600 yards of offense, which is truly offensive.  Redskins fans are stunned, and still awaiting the return of Robert Griffin III, not the one who played the last two games, but the one who had them dreaming Super Bowl just last season….before the injury.

With R G – 3 no longer considered a threat to run, defenses are keeping him in the pocket, which changes the entire scheme of what led Washington to the NFC East title last season.  Packers QB Aaron Rodgers had his way, throwing for over 300 yards in the first half against a Washington defense that has surrendered well over a thousand yards in two games.  The best news in the Redskins locker room Sunday was that Dallas fell at Kansas City and Philadelphia lost to the San Diego Chargers, leaving them one game behind them in the standings.  Otherwise, there is only the question of when, or if Griffin can return to the form of 2012.  If so, he’s gotta do it this Sunday at home against Matt Stafford, Reggie Bush & Mega-Tron.

With the Giants loss to Denver, New York falls into the cellar with Washington at 0 – 2 in the NFC East.  The Baltimore Ravens won Sunday at Cleveland, Miami defeated the Indianapolis Colts, the Atlanta Falcons got their first win at home over St. Louis.  Other winners include the Buffalo Bills, Houston Texans, and the Chicago Bears.
