A man from Stafford County was arrested and charged with the murder of a child that he had been babysitting.
A report of a 17-month-old baby boy injured in a fall led deputies to a house on the 1100 block of Providence Street on July 13. The baby was transported to a local hospital for emergency treatment, then flown to VCU Medical Center. He died two days after that.
After an investigation, Duc Chau, the 44-year-old babysitter, was indicted by a grand jury on July 26. He turned himself in and has been charged with First Degree Murder, Aggravated Malicious Wounding, and two counts of child abuse.
