The next time you go to your local sporting goods outlet to purchase the jersey of your favorite NFL player or team, you should feel extremely fortunate and thrilled by the price.  Whatever it is!  Surely, the cost couldn’t be anywhere near the $50,000 that Tampa Bay safety Darrelle Revis shelled-out for his No. 24 Bucaneers jersey.  Revis, who came over after six years with the New York Jets, reportedly paid teammate Mark Barron 50-Grand to change numbers and allow Revis to don the No. 24 next season in Tampa.  Barron, now $50,000 richer, has chosen to wear Mo. 23 this season.

Because No. 24 is part of Revis’ identity he can claim the $50,000 as a business expense in a tax deduction, Robert Raiola, an accountant with FMRTL in Cranford, N.J. says.  The Pro Bowl cornerback, who was traded to the Buccaneers this offseason, hasn’t practiced with his new teammates as he recovers from a knee injury, but said he expects to be ready to play in Week 1 when Tampa Bay plays at MetLife Stadium against his former team in New York.
