A Prince George County mother is charged with two counts of abuse/child neglect after her 17 month old boy died over the weekend.
Sources say the mother, 22 year old Brittney Downing, left her children in her vehicle while she worked at a Glen Allen hotel on Sunday.
Downing called 911 a little after 6p and emergency crews arrived only to pronounc the 17-month-old dead and said a 2-month-old infant in the apartment was “experiencing problems.” The baby girl was rushed to VCU Medical Center where she remained on a ventilator in critical condition.
Downing has turned herself into authorities who realized she had other pending charges against her including
Chesterfield County where she’s due in court June 10 for Misdemeanor Larceny, Colonial Heights where she’s due in court June 19 for felony obtaining money under false pretense and Henrico County where she’s due in court July 17 for speeding and driving under a revoked license which is her second offense.
