For the New York Knicks, this Indiana team may prove to be an even more formidable opponent than the days of Reggie Miller.   The Pacers wore the Knicks down in Game 1 of their series Sunday in the Big Apple, but on Tuesday night, Melo and company had their mojo working again and routed the Pacers to tie the series as the teams head to Indy for Games 3 & 4.  Indiana still holds the home court advantage after stealing the opener in NY.

Newly crowned Most Valuable Player LaBron  James has put Miami on his back and led the way down the stretch, while his co-star of the world champs, Dwayne Wade has nursed injuries.  The extended vacation ended Monday night  in South Beach against the Chicago Bulls, who found the champs to be a bit slow and rusty after an eight-day layoff.   The Bulls took full advantage of Miami’s failure to gain some momentum during the game and ran away to an upset victory on the road.  Chicago grabs the home-court advantage with Game 2 set for Wednesday evening.

Meanwhile, The San Antonio Spurs entertained Golden State to Texas on Monday after their extended layoff from their quick work of the Los Angeles Lakers . The Spurs looked about as flat as Miami throughout most of the game, then fought their way back into it in the 4th quarter.  Still, it took the Spurs two overtimes to get the win as Steph Curry was virtually on fire finishing Game 1 with 44 point for the Warriors. A high scoring series expected between these two teams, both of whom can put up the points, and if the opener is any indication, this series will be competitive.

The Memphis Grizzlies have quickly become a team to reckon with in the playoffs this season as Zach Randolph has ignited the Griz in their elimination of the Los Angeles Clippers, in fact, the Clips were up 2 – Zip and allowed Memphis to reel off four straight victories.  The Grizzlies are now playing the defending Western Conference champions, the Oklahoma City Thunder, who escaped their series with Houston.  OKC has now been put on notice that these Grizzlies are no pushovers as Memphis led Game 1 all the way until Kevin Durant’s game-clincher with 11 seconds left to pull out a Thunder win.  Gane 2 is tonight in Miami..
