The music mastermind behind hits like “Atomic Dog” and “One Nation Under a Groove,” is being forced to hand over the copyrights to four of his songs so that he can pay off a $1 million-plus debt to his attorneys.

George Clinton’s former law firm, Hendricks & Lewis, sued him for $1.5 million for work done in 2005 so Clinton paid $340,000 and was forced by a judge to sell the rights to four of his songs to the firm.

The four songs involved were “Hardcore Jollies,” “The Electric Spanking of War Babies,” “Uncle Jam Wants You,” and “One Nation Under A Groove” which was one of the biggest hits of the band Funkadelic can be seen below.
