With many well-known celebrities already voicing their opinions and political stances in this year’s election season, Hip Hop superstar LL Cool J is one of the few who believes it’s not in his job description to hit the campaign trail in an attempt to sway the votes in either direction. In a recent interview on the Tom Joyner Morning Show, the legendary rapper was questioned about where he stood on it all and here’s what he had to say even concerning the notion that he identifies as a republican.

Tom Joyner: Hey LL, did I read that you’re a republican?

LL Cool J: I don’t know where people get this strange information from but I’m not a republican.

Sybil Wilkes: Are you political at all?

LL Cool J: I’m not like trying to dive in there and be extra political this year.  I’m going to vote for our man and hopefully he gets four more; but I’m not out there on the stump. That’s not my thing. I feel like I’m an entertainer my job is not to tell people who to vote for or what to do in their political lives. My job is to try to help them forget about their problems and escape from all the issues going on and just be entertained. That’s what I do.
